Extel Large Sterling Silver Antiqued St. Florian Shield Medal Pendant, Patron Saint of Fire Fighters for Men with 24" chain. 1 x 3/4 inch antiqued finish sterling silver St. Florian shield medal on a 24 inch stainless steel rhodium plated chain. In the center of the pendant is the figure of St. Florian, who is depicted as a Roman soldier with a bucket of water, pouring it over fire. Around the figure is the shape of a shield, with banners the read "Fire Fighter" (top to bottom) and "St. Florian Protect Us" (left to right). The back of the shield pendant is blank with a brushed finish. Includes an elegant deluxe velour jewelry box.Saint Florian was an officer of the Roman army who suffered death for the Faith in the days of Diocletian. His legendary acts state that he gave himself up when the government was rounding up Christians, and after making a bold confession, he was twice scourged, flayed, set on fire, and finally thrown into the river.
